SyncLedger Privacy Policy

SyncLedger is an offline-first personal and shared expense ledger developed by Altusvay. This Privacy Policy explains what information SyncLedger handles, why it is handled, and the choices available to you.

1. Information SyncLedger handles

• Ledger information: accounts, categories, budgets, transactions, notes, participants, and related financial records that you enter into the app.
• Google account information: when you connect Google services, SyncLedger may receive your Google account email address and basic profile information needed to identify you and operate Google Drive sync.
• Shared-space information: names, email addresses, roles, and expense information that you choose to include in a shared space.
• Purchase information: Google Play and RevenueCat may process subscription, purchase, restore, and entitlement information when you use paid features. SyncLedger does not receive or store your payment-card details.
• Technical information: the app may process basic device and diagnostic information needed to operate the app and investigate errors. SyncLedger does not use advertising identifiers or third-party ad tracking.

2. Where your data is stored

Your ledger data is stored locally on your device in the app's local database. If you enable Google Drive backup or shared spaces, the relevant data is uploaded to your Google Drive under your Google account and, for shared spaces, to the Google Drive locations and collaborators you select.

SyncLedger does not operate a proprietary central database containing your ledger records. Shared-space payloads are protected before upload using authenticated encryption supported by the app.

3. How information is used

Information is used only to:

• provide ledger, budgeting, reporting, backup, restore, and shared-space features;
• authenticate your Google account and keep cloud data associated with the correct user;
• process purchases, subscriptions, restores, and entitlement status through Google Play and RevenueCat; and
• maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the app.

4. Third-party services

SyncLedger integrates with the following services when you choose to use the related features:

• Google Sign-In and Google Drive: authentication, backup, restore, and shared-space synchronization. Google's policies apply to Google's processing of your information.
• Google Play: payment processing and subscription management for Android purchases.
• RevenueCat: purchase and entitlement management. RevenueCat receives billing-related metadata and a pseudonymous app identifier; SyncLedger does not send ledger entries, transaction amounts, notes, or category data to RevenueCat.

These services process information under their own privacy policies and terms. SyncLedger does not sell your personal information or use your financial records for advertising.

5. Sharing and disclosure

SyncLedger shares information only when needed to provide a feature you request, such as uploading a backup to your Google Drive, sharing a shared space with collaborators you select, or processing a purchase through Google Play and RevenueCat. We do not sell, rent, or share your ledger data with data brokers or advertisers.

6. Your choices and deletion

• You can use SyncLedger locally without connecting Google Drive.
• You can disconnect Google services from within the app and manage Google Drive files through Google Drive.
• You can delete local app data using the app's available data-management controls or your device settings.
• You can delete backup and shared-space files from Google Drive, subject to the permissions and ownership of those files.
• You can manage subscriptions and request refunds through Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not automatically delete files already stored in Google Drive.

7. Security

SyncLedger is designed with local-first storage, limited cloud scopes, encrypted shared payloads, and no collection of payment-card details. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8. Children's privacy

SyncLedger is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when SyncLedger's features or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published on this page with a revised effective date.
